What defines us as humans?
The art of story telling
” Historical perspective – Storytelling predates writing. The earliest forms of storytelling were usually oral combined with gestures and expressions. In addition to being part of religious rituals, some archaeologists believe rock art may have served as a form of storytelling for many ancient cultures. “ – As per Wikipedia
Let’s bring ourselves to he modern era in comparison. We could boldly claim that Meme’s are an art form of telling stories. It certainly wears the hat of simple narrative which spreads like wild fire. Who dictates that a certain type of meme is categorised. However, every meme has it’s category. There is almost a meme for every reply. If not, make one. And as simple as that, the cycle repeats itself. A new meme is born! Humanity chooses the category and humbly champions that meme to every corner of the world. The original creator has let loose the mighty Kraken.
Once created, we do not hold to it, we set it loose, we share it with friends, family and would tag our animals in it if we could.
What a wonderful form of story telling! That meme will be used and added to, forever changing the ownership of the meme.
Story telling is an art, as are memes. People can spend hours on 9gag or orther related meme sites. In short, they have glanced over 1000’s of stories in a mere month. We seem to prefer stories in this format. It certainly doesn’t replace a good book but it does make for some good reading!
Memes that get straight to the point with as few words as possible. Now that is where wit enters. Memes that have too much text, the reader scrolls past and those memes are long forgotten.
We certainly do look forward to the story of memes from the mantel of Memekind and how it will grow into avenues not yet thought of!
