People aren’t kidding when they say “life is short.” You’re only here for a while and might as well reach for the stars while you can. Follow your dreams and kick-start your life.
Consider what you want to do, but haven’t tried because you fear failure or imagine you can’t squeeze your dream into your schedule. Stop making excuses not to embark on adventures, however big or small, and set forth. As a result, you’ll live rather than stagnate.
It often takes big life events to bring about the start of a mindset shift for us
These are our growth points and we should be most grateful for them when they do take place. Yes, at times they are hard, unfair in that moment, sometimes we do not think we can see beyond the hurt. The converse of this is also true. At times, they are liberating and can take the weight of the world off our shoulders instantaneously.
I believe this is the catalyst that many of us need in order to re-focus ourselves or rather re-calibrate ourselves. We get so caught up in the daily grind that we loose sight of our dreams and goals.
Follow Your Dreams
So if you have had this shift recently or it is soon to take place. Now would be a good time to get to know yourself again. Who are you, what drives you? What do you want to achieve in life? Think about your dreams from months or years back. Write them down and take them from a thought into something tangible. Turn that dream into a goal. If it is something that seems unrealistic. Break it down into smaller achievable goals that will get you to the end point. Do not let self doubt creep in and take over.
Put yourself in situations that allow for your goals to take place, how?
- Speak to people that have achieved what you want to do;
- Surround yourself with positive people looking to achieve their goals and who are achieving them.
You would be surprised how many people would be happy and willing to help you achieve your goals.
Just showing up and being present is all it takes to turn dreams into a reality.
